ZAMBART is a research-focused non-governmental organisation that conducts research on HIV and Tuberculosis to help control and mitigate the impact of the dual epidemic. ZAMBART staff form an interdisciplinary team with a range of expertise including epidemiology, clinical science, social science, laboratory, operations research, health systems and services research, health policy analysis, health economics, health communication research compliance and counselling.

To support our wide range of research activities, we are looking for candidates to fill the following position:

YATHU YATHU:

Study summary: Yathu Yathu (“for us by us”) is a cluster-randomised trial that will evaluate the impact of community-based, peer-led SRH services on knowledge of HIV status and coverage of key SRH services among AYP. The intervention, called Yathu Yathu (For us, by us), was designed with adolescents and young people in a formative research study in 2017/18.

Intervention Coordinator (01 – Chipata 01 – Kanyama Communities)

Position summary: The primary role of the Intervention Coordinator is to oversee and coordinate the implementation of clinic and community Yathu Yathu intervention activities within a community. The Intervention Coordinators will report to the Study Manager at Head Office.

Responsibilities

  • Track progress of intervention activities at Yathu Yathu hubs and clinic levels and provide appropriate timely feedback.
  • Identify and address gaps/ weaknesses in the implementation of intervention activities and ensure that study intervention targets are me.
  • Work closely with partners implementing contraceptive service delivery, ART delivery, male circumcision and other non-health related activities such as skills trainings
  • Consolidate monthly reports from study specific intervention activities and other implementing partners.
  • Capacity building and mentorship of Hub Supervisors and Peer Support Workers involved in Yathu Yathu intervention activities
  • Ensure that all required supplies and EDCs are available and in good working condition
  • Conduct weekly QA/QC testing as per SOP and provide report to the Study Manager on a weekly basis

Minimum requirements

  • Minimum Diploma in public health or any other health related qualification
  • Experience managing community health workers
  • Experience conducting or implementing community-based HIV/TB research activities
  • Has extensive knowledge of the community
  • Strong communications skills and ability to collaborate effectively
  • Proven problem-solving skills and exceptional stakeholder relations with both internal and external parties
  • Strong supervisory and commodity management skills
  • Organized and self-directed individual with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgement, high ethical standards, and operational focus
  • Proven ability to achieve results
