Call for Volunteers

This is a call for Volunteers open to Zambians to serve as Volunteers with iSanitize for One (1) year beginning 9 November, 2020.

Background

iSanitize is a local development Non-Governmental Organization registered under the Non- Governmental Organisations Act, 2009 (Act No. 16 of 2009).

Mission

To advocate, educate, facilitate and promote healthy hygiene and sanitation practices for school girls, boys and young people in underserviced communities of Zambia

The Objectives of iSanitize are:

1. To empower girls, boys and young people to practice healthy hygiene and access decent sanitation in rural and peri- urban schools and underserviced communities
2. To educate girls and boys on menstrual and general hygiene and sanitation while empowering the girls to access free re-usable and disposable menstrual sanitary wear
3. To advocate and contribute to knowledge sharing, growth and implementation of innovative and healthy hygiene and sanitation best practices among all young people in Zambia
4. To facilitate and advocate for policy change and enhancement of hygiene and sanitation policies for women and young people
5. To partner with like-minded organizations in pursuit of iSanitize mission and mandate
6. To strengthen the national strategy of government to provide access to safe water, healthy hygiene and sanitation for all.

iSanitize will operate in the following five (5) provinces of Zambia over a five (5) year period, 2020- 2025; Luapula, Lusaka, North Western, Southern and Western Provinces.

Purpose and role of the Volunteer

The iSanitize Volunteers will be tasked in completing tasks assigned by the Supervisor, upholding the organization’s values, and maintaining a high degree of professionalism with all stakeholders. You should arrive on time, follow instructions, and improve the overall operations of the organization.

iSanitize is looking for individuals that will;

1. Help with Marketing Efforts
2. Provide Information to the Public
3. Motivate Others to Get Involved
4. Keep Accurate Records
5. Complete all duties assigned by the Supervisor and report any issues immediately.
6. Deliver presentations or reports if necessary.
7. Observe the rules and safety regulations of the organization while carrying out tasks.
8. Arrive on time for duty and remain professional in your interactions with all stakeholders.

Requirements

iSanitize is looking for committed and passionate youths with experience in;

1. Completion of Secondary School/ relevant Diploma/ Degree will be required.
2. A willingness to learn and work as part of a growing team.
3. A high degree of discipline and the ability to follow instructions.
4. Respect and diligence.
5. Good time management and reliable transport.
6. Good people skills.
7. Zero tolerance for corruption
8. Must be fluent in atleast one (1) Zambian language and basic English

To serve as Volunteers who change the lives of young people and women through the iSanitize cause of championing access to healthy hygiene and sanitation in Zambia.
