Kalonga Logistics
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Responsible for the maintenance of all equipment at all the Kalonga sites and locations at Lumwana Mine Terminal, keep, maintain and nature sound equipment maintenance program,
Ensure that all Terminal receipts and dispensing meters are fully compliant and that all meters are fully calibrated and sealed by government official from Zambia Metrology Agency (ZMA).
Adhere to Kalonga HSE Policies and maintenance guidelines, Kalonga procedures and processes around the entire equipment maintenance program.
MAIN DUTIES
a) Take safety as a personal responsibility and prevent accident/incidents to achieve no harm to people, environment and equipment as per the site motto of “safety does not hurt but accidents do”.
b) Participate in the formulation of Kalonga HSE policies and Maintenance procedures
c) Equipment maintenance (Fire Engine, forklift, compressor, vehicles pumps, meters, pipes and tanks
d) Conduct critical equipment inspection daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly as per Annual Maintenance Program (AMP).
e) Logging of faulty equipment in a log book within 24hrs
f) Repair equipment and machinery while keeping downtime to a minimum
g) Technical contribution to achieve site monthly and annual target sales
h) Inspect your work area in order to look for hazards and report all the hazards to your immediate Supervisor.
i) Report all the incidents/accidents including near misses and injuries in your work area to supervisor in accordance with Kalonga accident/incident reporting requirements.
j) Clean the respective working area in a sound house-keeping condition to ensure orderly
k) Timely preparation of requisitions for procurement of materials as evidenced by raised material requisition and documenting photocopies for proof of purchase in the material requisition folder.
l) Weekly review of leaks register to ensure no losses due to equipment leakages as evidenced by timely equipment repairs reports (Weekly Maintenance Reports)
m) Six monthly participation in meter assizing as evidence in meter assized reports and signed off by ZMA inspectors.
n) Maintain accurate records for equipment and other transactions in order to ensure correct data of equipment reflect an accurate record of the business transactions for equipment records.
o) Assist stocks team to investigating in-transit and working product gains and losses in order to ensure that the losses and gains are within acceptable levels
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Education background
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Affiliated with the Engineering Institute of Zambia
- Affiliated with Zambia Metrological Agency
