Our client in the manufacturing industry is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sales Assistant to join their team. The Sales Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the sales team in achieving their goals and ensuring smooth communication between customers, sales representatives, and internal departments. The ideal candidate should have excellent organisational skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate with customers via phone, email, and in-person to understand their needs, answer inquiries, and provide product information.
  • Assist in preparing and delivering sales presentations to potential clients.
  • Handle customer complaints and provide appropriate solutions in a timely manner.
  • Update and maintain the customer database with accurate information and sales activities.
  • Coordinate with the production and logistics teams to ensure timely order fulfilment and delivery.
  • Maintain organised records of sales and customer interactions using CRM software.
  • Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and other relevant documentation for management review.
  • Identify potential leads and opportunities for business expansion through research and data analysis.
  • Provide logistical support for trade shows, exhibitions, and other industry events.
  • Help set up and manage booth displays, promotional materials, and networking activities.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as production, logistics, and finance, to ensure smooth order processing and customer satisfaction.


  • Full grade 12 certificate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing or a related field.
  • At least 2 years proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and products is desirable.
