The Zambia-Emory HIV Research Project seeks the following:
Lab QA/Repository Manager-Lusaka
Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Conduct Quality Assurance Audit of lab facilities in accordance to GCLP
- Coordinate quality systems audit with clinic and data teams
- Coordinate and ensure timely submissions for various external quality assurance
- Monitor quality trends in the laboratory and report study team
- Ensure sample repository is maintained within expected turnaround times
Qualifications required for the position:
- Bsc in Biomedical or related sciences
- At least 6 months managerial work experience
- Excellent interpersonal/communications (verbal, oral, written & electronic) skills
- Computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Access preferred
- Knowledgeable in safety, quality control and assurance issues in an established laboratory
- Registration with Health Professions Council of Zambia
- Preferred previous training in Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) or Good Clinical Laboratory Practices (GCLP)
- Previous research experience preferred
- Sample repository data entry and management preferred
- Able to communicate in Bemba/English
