The Information and Communications University (ICU) is looking for suitably qualified, experienced and skilled persons to be employed as Lecturers on full- time or part-time basis in the following fields of study:

A: SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

  1. Economics
  2. BusinessAdministration
  3. Finance

B: SCHOOL OF HUMANITIES

  1. Journalism
  2. Mass Communication
  3. Investigative Journalism
  4. Development Studies
  5. Social Work Practice And Development
  6. Public Administration
  7. Human Resource Management
  8. Project Planning And Management

C: SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

  1. Primary Education
  2. English Language
  3. Mathematics,
  4. Civic Education
  5. Geography
  6. History
  7. Religious Education
  8. Business Studies

D: SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING

  1. Architecture
  2. Design and Technology
  3. Information, Communication and Technology
  4. Agriculture
  5. FineArts and Film Production

E: SCHOOL OF MEDICINE AND PUBLIC HEALTH

  1. Nursing
  2. Public Health
  3. Clinical Medicine

F: Job Purpose:

The purpose of each job is to prepare lesson plans from the ICU’s course outlines and deliver lectures in respective field of study.

G: MAIN DUTIES ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Design, prepare and develop teaching materials;
  2. Deliver lectures, tutorials in respective courses;
  3. Provide effective advice, guidance and feedback to student to support their progress;
  4. Set formative and summative assessments;
  5. Prepare model answers and marking key;
  6. Update the program outline and syllabus in the respective course
  7. Attend academic meetings when they are convened;
  8. Participate in supervising students on research projects and
  9. Write periodic academic performance reports.

H: QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

In all the above fields of study, applicants should have the following qualifications:

  1. Grade 12 Certificate
  2. Minimum of master’s degree in respective field of study
  3. Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) will be an added advantage
  4. Diploma in Teaching Methodology from a recognized training institution will also be an added advantage
  5. Field and/or lecturing experiences of not less than

I: KEY ATTRIBUTES

  1. Display high levels of integrity and trustworthiness;
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills;
  3. Computer literate; and excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
