SCOPE OF WORK
The Assistant Accountant shall work under the direct supervision of the Senior Accountant and the under the overall management of the Chief Financial Officer. The candidate will support Finance functions by preparing financial statements, accounts reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, budgets, processing invoices, finance administration requirements, accounts and budgets. The candidate will ensure that all procedure and controls are in accordance with the Lendor and Burton Limited Financial Regulations to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the Company in its financial tasks.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
He or she will be expected to perform the following duties:
Accounting
1. Drafting Management Accounts
2. Drafting Financial Statements
3. Data capturing to Trial Balance
4. Cashflow projections
5. Reconciliations – Banks, Payables & Receivables
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
2. Part accounting certification will be an added advantage (ACCA, CIMA, ZICA or CA Zambia)
3. Competence in the use of accounting software particularly QuickBooks and Sage Pastel
4. At least four years of professional experience working with or in the private sector
5. Work experience must showcase progressively responsible work in finance and accounting activities, with solid experience. Good knowledge of administrative and accounting regulation and procedures common to most private sector Organizations in Zambia.
