As a renewable energy company incorporated in Zambia, we have been making significant strides in the greater district of Mumbwa since 2019, bringing the benefits of pay-as-you-go renewable energy to the community.
With a strategic vision, we are venturing into productive use of renewable energy to support the dairy production sub-sector in the greater Chibombo district. As we near the completion of our second hub, we are thrilled to welcome a Community Energy Hub Operations Managers to spearhead our transformative initiative.
The Role
As a Community Energy Hub Operations Manager, you will be the driving force behind the success of Little Sun’s transformative initiative in agriculture. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the overall operations of the Community Energy Hubs.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive performance to meet targets for the successful integration of solar technology in agriculture and dairy production support at each hub
- Develop, oversee, and manage the operations of the Community Energy Hubs, including coordination with farmer co-operatives and processors
- Act as the primary liaison for each Energy Hub/Milk Collection Centre, fostering strong community relationships
- Promote and uphold the highest health and safety standards at all times
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including inventory and purchase orders
- Ensure proper document flow, filing, and archiving for streamlined operations
- Be a self-starter, thriving under pressure with strict targets and deadlines
- Take on other duties as assigned from time to time, contributing to our overall mission
Minimum Requirements
- Tertiary Qualification in a relevant field, such as renewable energy, agricultural sciences, agribusiness, or a related discipline
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in the renewable energy or agricultural sectors, with a focus on project management and operations
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and familiarity with industry-specific software and tools related to renewable energy or agriculture
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to serve as the primary liaison for each Energy Hub/Milk Collection Centre and foster strong community relationships
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities, with the capacity to maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and manage document flow efficiently
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to thrive under pressure, manage strict targets, and meet deadlines consistently
- A genuine passion for renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and making a positive impact on local communities
