IT Technician
Job description
Are you an aspiring IT Technician passionate about resolving IT problems?
A successful IT Technician must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of applications, networks and operating systems. The ideal candidate will also have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.
IT Technician Duties and Responsibilities:
• Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability.
• Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Upgrading the entire system to enable compatible software on all computers.
• Providing support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting.
• Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues.
• Managing technical documentation.
• Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
• Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks to ensure smooth operation and to identify and address problems promptly.
• Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
• Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
• Troubleshooting system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
• Providing technical support to end-users either face-to-face, over the phone or via email.
• Managing and keeping track of IT inventory and equipment.
• Updating computer systems, software, and hardware accordingly.
• Maintaining working components through repair or replacement
• Assisting customers and staff with hardware and software challenges
• Install and manage workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices٫ such as routers٫ printers and so on
• Monitor computer hardware (HDD٫ mouses٫ keyboards etc.) to ensure its normal performance
• Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
• Detect٫ diagnose and troubleshoot to problems٫ related to hardware and software
• Keep records and logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
• Troubleshoot to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
• Maintain hardware and software inventory
• Repairing or replacing damaged hardware
• Keep systems up-to-date through operating systems upgrades
• Provide helpdesk support for network issues either by phone or remote access
• Respond to IT issues; hardware maintenance, software, networking, etc.
• Troubleshoots system errors and failures
• Repairs and maintains computers and laptops
• Monitor support requests and documents all processes
IT Technician Requirements and Qualifications:
• At least 2+ years of experience in computer networks and systems maintenance or other relevant position
• Previous experience as a help desk technician, computer technician, or IT support
• Technical skills and knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues
• Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills and attention to detail
• A diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
• Strong communication٫ organizational, interpersonal and time-management skills
• Hands on experience with diverse computer systems and networks
• Certification as IT Technician will be a big plus
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve multiple issues
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Comfortable in a diverse and fast-paced environment
• Goal-oriented, organized team player
• Advanced knowledge in commonly used Windows operating systems
• Exemplary problem-solving skills
