Lubambe Copper Mine Limited
Lubambe Copper Mine Limited (LCML) owns and operates the Lubambe underground Copper Mine located in Chililabombwe District of the Copperbelt Province in Zambia. The Mine which commenced operations in 2012 is situated approximately 468 kilometres North of the Capital City of Lusaka, 152 Kilometres from Ndola and approximately 40 Kilometres from Chingola.
Lubambe Copper Mine sits on an area of approximately 58.1 square kilometres and comprises an existing underground mine, characterised by two distinct limbs (the East and South Limbs) and a processing Plant with a capacity to process up to 2.4 million tonnes per annum.

LCML seeks to employ an experienced and qualified individual in the following position:
VENTILATION TECHNOLOGIST (X1)
This position reports to the Ventilation Engineer.
Core Purpose of the Position
Plan and ensure implementation of a long & short term efficient ventilation system at the mine to forestall safe environmental conditions in working places.
Key Performance Areas/Indicators (KPA/Is):
- Maintain and update Ventsim.
- Conduct Vent simulations for future Primary Ventilation circuits.
- Prepare Blasting Schedule.
- Diesel emissions measurements and compliance.
- Conduct Vent flow surveys.
- Conduct Main fan pressure testing.
- Perform UG Vent audits.
- Mentor and train the Ventilation technicians.
- Conduct Shift boss and PIC training on basic ventilation at training school.
Academic Qualifications and Experience
- Advanced Diploma or bachelor’s degree specialising in Mine Ventilation (Engineering).
- Member of Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ).
- Minimum of three years underground mining experience in mine ventilation.
- Proficient use of Ventsim Computer software will be added advantage.
- A valid driving licence will also be an added advantage.
- Good working knowledge of the Mining regulations, 1973 part IX.
