Key Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the GIS Lead Engineer to extract, locate, and analyze geographic data.
- Processes drone imagery using software such as Pix4D, Drone Deploy, or similar, generating orthophotos, digital surface models (DSMs), and other geospatial products for titling and planning purposes.
- Applies planning standards to pre-vectorized areas as instructed by the MLG Zambia Planning Lead.
- Ensures timely data cleaning and preparation of field-collected data for titling operations.
- Identifies and corrects field data errors swiftly, collaborating with Field managers and other team members.
- Assists in identifying and proposing solutions for boundary disputes in demarcation areas.
- Provides information and guidance to prospective landowners regarding their plots, as directed by MLG management.
- Performs digitization, data collection, and map generation, maintaining GIS data accuracy.
- Supports team operations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to meet project goals.
- Undertakes additional duties as required by GIS Lead Engineer.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in GIS, Geomatics Engineering, Land Surveying, Planning, or a related field.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a similar field.
- Strong proficiency in GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS) and their integration with databases.
- Knowledge experience with drone imagery processing tools (Pix4D, Drone Deploy) and understanding of remote sensing concepts.
- Knowledge of survey data management and visualization using GIS.
- Familiarity with mobile applications for data collection.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams to develop viable solutions.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt to dynamic project demands
