Job Title: Operations Officer
Location: Lusaka, Zambia
Job Summary:
The Operations Officer will oversee day-to-day operations, optimise processes and drive organisational success by implementing strategic initiatives while ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Plan, direct and coordinate operations to achieve production targets.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor and analyse operational performance metrics and implementing improvements as necessary.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all operations adhere to health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance.
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train and supervise staff, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth, and ensure they are met.
- Provide leadership and guidance to team members, promoting a collaborative work environment.
- Manage budgets and forecasts, ensuring financial targets are met.
Resource Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and utilization of equipment and facilities to ensure optimal performance.
- Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Implement inventory control systems to manage resources effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Mining Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of progressive experience in operations management.
- Proven leadership, organisational and decision-making skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
