Position Title: Sales and Marketing Officer (Trainee Sales and Marketing Manager)
Location: Lusaka

Position Summary:

The Sales & Marketing Officer (Trainee Sales & Marketing Manager) will be responsible for developing, implementing and executing strategic marketing plans to attract potential customers and retain existing ones. The role includes overseeing the marketing team, managing campaigns, analysing market trends, and aligning marketing initiatives with business objectives to maximise profitability and brand recognition.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and oversee the marketing strategy for the company’s products and services.
  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital, print and events.
  • Establish and maintain the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.

Brand Management:

  • Strengthen brand identity and ensure consistency across all marketing materials.
  • Monitor brand perception and make adjustments to strategies as necessary.

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities, customer needs and competitor strategies.
  • Analyse data to measure campaign performance and ROI and prepare detailed reports for management.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Manage and mentor the marketing team, providing guidance and fostering professional development.
  • Collaborate with sales, product development and other departments to align marketing efforts with overall business goals.

Digital Marketing:

  • Oversee digital marketing strategies, email marketing and social media campaigns.
  • Manage website content and ensure user engagement through innovative digital strategies.

Event Planning and Management:

  • Organise and manage events, such as product launches, exhibitions and promotional campaigns.
  • Evaluate event success and suggest improvements for future activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Proven experience in a marketing role.
  • Strong background in developing and implementing successful marketing strategies.
  • Proficiency in marketing tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Creative Suite, CRM software).
  • Knowledge of digital marketing trends and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Creative thinker with problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Highly analytical with a results-oriented mindset.
