1. Senior Group Accountant
Location: Lusaka, Zambia
Reports to: Group Finance Manager/Finance Director

Job Summary:
The Senior Group Accountant will oversee financial consolidation, reporting, and analysis for a diverse portfolio of companies operating in real estate, mining, hospitality, and education sectors. This role requires a strong understanding of Zambian accounting regulations and the ability to manage complex financial operations across multiple industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Consolidation & Reporting:
- Lead the consolidation process for group-wide financial statements, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in compliance with relevant Zambian accounting standards.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation of group-level management reports, ensuring all financial results are accurate and aligned with the business units.
Financial Analysis:
- Analyse financial data from multiple entities across diverse industries to assess performance and identify trends.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management based on consolidated results.
- Assist with variance analysis and help identify areas for cost control and optimization.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Support the group in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing input into group-level forecasts and consolidating financial projections.
- Monitor actual performance against forecasts and budgets, highlighting any significant deviations.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Ensure that internal controls are in place across the group to safeguard assets and maintain the integrity of financial reporting.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Review and assess the group’s accounting processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
Tax & Statutory Reporting:
- Support the preparation of group tax filings and ensure compliance with Zambian tax regulations, including those set by the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA).
- Coordinate with tax advisors to ensure proper tax reporting for the group’s entities.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with business unit finance teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting from each subsidiary.
- Assist in mentoring and training junior accounting staff, providing support for their development and growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance.
- Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA preferred).
- 5+ years of accounting experience, 2+ years in a senior role, preferably with experience across multiple industries.
- Strong knowledge of Zambian tax regulations.
- Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Microsoft skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with senior management and cross-functional teams.
