WAREHOUSE MANAGER

An opportunity exists for a talented individual who wishes to develop a career in this exciting industry as Warehouse Manager reporting to the Logistics Manager.

KEY RESULT AREAS AND OUTPUT

  • Ensure an efficient warehouse operation which is able to fulfil operational and customer demand.
  • Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage and dispatch of products and drive a zero tolerance mindset for deviation from the use of quality processes to ensure customer deliverables are met fully.
  • Understand customer needs and ensure alignment with the needs/commitments of the business.
  • Keep up to date and respond accordingly to all enquiries and guarantee customer satisfaction through quick customer complaint resolution.
  • Ensure the relevance and accuracy of all documentation relating to product in and product out and ensure all Proof of Deliveries (PODs) are received and stored.
  • Manage overhead expenditure within budget.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs and ensure effective performance management for all warehouses.
  • Continuously review ways to aid efficiency, add value and reduce costs as well as delivering continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Create and implement best practice warehousing principles, policies, processes and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Establish, monitor and maintain high standards of security in the Warehouse by continuous review of processes and setting security procedures.
  • Provide a safe working environment, adhering to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and ensuring they are understood and practiced by the team at all times.
  • Ensure a clean and tidy working environment to aid operational efficiency.
  • Manage reverse product flow by identifying opportunities to reduce unwanted returns and stock losses.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of the Warehouse by ensuring effective and efficient us of warehouse space, taking into account product availability and lead times, proper stock management in terms of expired and short dated stock and ensure that procedures and workflows have been adhered to.
  • Ensure accurate stock and inventory control is in place by implementing and monitoring regular stock control practices as well as accurate stock counts daily and monthly by products shelf life.
  • Nurture a mature and motivated staff complement through continuous training and engagement forums, interacting with staff at all functional levels.
  • Ensure adherence to budget requirements and report monthly results timeously.
  • Managing all system control and supervise transactions in the system (BPCS).

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 12 Certificate with 6 Credits.
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management or Degree in a Business Related Course.
  • 5 years’ demonstrative experience in running a warehouse, preferably in FMCGs.
  • Knowledge of Food Industry Technology, Quality, Health, Safety and Environment
    Inventory Control.
