Sentinel Kalumbila
PE Assistant
Sentinel Kalumbila is in the North-Western Province of Zambia. This purpose-built school, of over 150 pupils, is operated by Educore Services. It was established in 2014 to attend to the educational needs of children whose parents work at the local copper mine. Sentinel Kalumbila offers schooling from Early Years to Year 7. Educore Services is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic Physical Education Assistant Teacher.
The appointee will report to the Head of School and directly contribute to all areas of Physical Education teaching across three Kalumbila Schools within the Educore Services group (Sentinel Kalumbila, Trident Prep Kalumbila and Frontier Nkisu) as well as add to the extra-curricular curriculum in these schools.
Main Purpose of the Job
To provide the students with an excellent educational experience in the Kalumbila schools in accordance with the schools’ Physical Education curriculum. To work in conjunction with the class teachers and the Sports Coach.
Qualifications Required
- Minimum Diploma in Physical Education
- Minimum 5 O’ levels including Mathematics and English
- TCZ registration
- TCZ practicing Licence
- Minimum 2 years work experience in teaching PE
- Must have the skills of teaching: Athletics, Football, Netball, Rugby, Cricket and Swimming.
Key Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following key skills:
- Able to differentiate lessons according to ability groups
- Able to effectively manage and coach students from Early Years classes up to Year 7
- Competent ICT skills
- Good organisational skills
- Clear communication skills
- Sound knowledge of sporting disciplines and ability to model required skills to students
- Enjoy living in a small rural community
