JOB TITLE: PENSIONS OFFICER – BENEFITS AND ADMINISTRATION
Reporting:
Reporting to the Senior Pensions and Benefits Officer
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Calculates pension benefits according to scheme rules upon receipt of pension claim forms from eligible beneficiaries and submits same to supervisor for verification.
- Explains benefit calculations and other vital details to beneficiaries to facilitate understanding.
- Administers pensioner’s accounts regularly updating them to facilitate payments.
- Update members’ pension records by effecting relevant amendments and changes.
- Ensures that all documents and correspondence worked on are filed.
- Investigates unpaid pensions to establish causes and resolves them.
- As and when required, provides information to accounts in relation to pension payments.
- Compiles relevant pension reports for submission to supervisor.
- Handles pension queries in person, by phone or e-mail as necessary.
- Makes follow up on payment queries to ensure prompt resolution.
- Performs field work duties of marketing in nature, by conducting induction lectures to members and potential members alike.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Superior interpersonal and coaching skills including patience and ability to work well with staff at all levels
- Proficiency in computer use especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent analytical skills
- Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or any business related studies;
- Minimum of 3 years experience in related field.
- Valid Driving licence
