1. Programs Manager

Job Summary

To oversee and coordinate various aspects of the organization’s educational programs, with a focus on vocational outreach, student selections, and counselling services.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

Strategic Oversight

Develop and implement strategic initiatives for vocational outreach programs, student selections, and counselling services to align with organizational goals and Pestalozzi values.

Team Leadership

Manage and mentor the Vocation Outreach Officer, Selections Officer, and Counsellor to ensure effective performance and professional development.

Stakeholder Engagement

Cultivate and maintain relationships with stakeholders including students, families, educators, community organizations, and donors.

Monitoring and Evaluation

Monitor program outcomes and impact, using data-driven insights to improve program delivery and student outcomes.

Student Support and Development

Oversee student recruitment, selection, and enrolment processes, ensuring diversity and inclusivity and oversee the effective on-boarding into the Skills Hub.

Advocacy and Outreach

Represent Pestalozzi in relevant forums, conferences, and events to raise awareness of the organization’s mission and impact as well as advocate for policies and practices that support educational equity and social justice for disadvantaged children.

Performance Appraisal

Undertake and agree to performance targets and conduct appraisal for all staff under supervision

Reporting

Prepare reports, plans and budgets for presentation to the CEO and/or to the Board.

Education:

  • Grade Twelve (12) Certificate (six subjects).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences or International Development.
  • Master’s Degree in Education, Social Sciences or International Development
  • Valid practicing licence from a professional body

Experience

  • At least ten (10) years work experience in Program Management in the education sector or with NGOs working with marginalized communities, with three (3 years) at management.

2. Curriculum Development Manager

Job Summary

To oversee the designing, implementing, and refining of educational curricula at Pestalozzi, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and Pestalozzi principles. To oversee the instructional quality and training coordination to enhance educational outcomes and foster holistic student development.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

Curriculum Design and Implementation

Lead the design and development of comprehensive curricula that integrate academic subjects, practical skills, and ethical education for the Skills Hub that reflect Pestalozzi values and principles, ensuring alignment with educational standards and best practices.
Ensure all courses are accredited with TEVETA

Instructional Quality Assurance

Provide guidance and support to Instructors in delivering effective and engaging lessons, utilizing innovative teaching methodologies and tools to optimize student learning experiences.

Training Coordination

Offer ongoing support and resources to teachers to enhance their instructional practices and classroom management skills.

Assessment and Evaluation

Develop assessment tools and methodologies to measure student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.

Stakeholder Engagement

Work closely with stakeholders such as curriculum specialists, teachers, and administrative staff and external partners including educational experts and community organizations to enhance curriculum effectiveness and relevance.

Research and Innovation

Stay abreast of current trends, research, and best practices in curriculum development, pedagogy, and educational technology.
Foster a culture of educational excellence and innovation within the organization, promoting collaborative and inclusive practices that support student success and well-being.

3. Culture and Ethos Manager

Job Summary

To foster a nurturing and inclusive organizational culture that embodies the core values of academic excellence, compassion, and practical skill development. To ensure that students receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for academic success and practical skills essential for their future careers.

Duties and Responsibilities

Human Resources Management

Oversee recruitment, on-boarding, and performance management processes to ensure a talented and motivated workforce.
Develop and implement policies and procedures related to HR, payroll, benefits administration, and staff development.

Cultural Leadership

Lead the development and implementation of strategies to promote a positive organizational culture that reflects Pestalozzi’s values and ethos as well as foster a sense of belonging and community among staff, students, families, and volunteers through inclusive practices and initiatives.

Values Integration

Ensure alignment of organizational policies, practices, and decision-making processes with Pestalozzi’s core values of academic achievement, compassion, and practical skill development.
Cultivate relationships with external partners, including parents, caregivers, community leaders, and local organizations, to strengthen ties with the broader community and promote collaboration.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the organization, ensuring that all stakeholders feel valued, respected, and represented.
Implement policies and practices that promote equity and address systemic barriers to access and opportunity for marginalized populations.

Ethical Education

Develop and deliver educational programs and workshops on ethics, values, and social responsibility for students, staff, and volunteers.
Integrate ethical discussions and reflection into the curriculum and extracurricular activities to foster critical thinking and moral reasoning skills.
Wellness and Support Services
Oversee the provision of wellness and support services for students and staff, including mental health resources, counselling, and pastoral care.
Implement initiatives to promote self-care, resilience, and work-life balance among staff and volunteers.

Academic and Professional Qualifications

4. Operations Manager

Job Summary

As Operations Manager, you will oversee the smooth and efficient functioning of all operational functions including procurement, finance, Audit, ICT and the overall maintenance of all the facilities. You will ensure that these support services are well resourced in order to support the entire organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Implementation

Work closely with senior management to develop and implement operational strategies that support Pestalozzi’s mission and objectives.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and cost savings across all areas of operations.

Financial Management

Oversee budget development, monitoring, and reporting to ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational goals.
Manage financial resources effectively, maximizing the impact of funding to support educational programs and services.

Financial Statement Review

Accurately reflect the financial position and performance of Pestalozzi.

Internal Controls Evaluation

Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, including reviewing processes for financial reporting, cash handling, and other financial transactions to prevent errors and fraud.

Risk Assessment

Identify and evaluate financial risks faced by Pestalozzi. Identify and mitigate risks through appropriate financial strategies and controls.

Compliance Monitoring

Ensure that financial activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Facilities and Logistics Management

Coordinate the maintenance and upkeep of facilities, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for students, staff, and volunteers.
Oversee the management of procurement processes, inventory control, and asset management to support program delivery and organizational needs.

Technology and Information Systems

Evaluate and implement technology solutions to streamline operations, improve communication, and enhance data management capabilities.
Ensure the security and integrity of organizational data and information systems through effective IT governance practices.

Performance Appraisal

Academic and Professional Qualifications
