Plan international Zambia
1. PURPOSE OF THIS CALL
Plan International Zambia is accepting expressions of interest from external consultants with a strong track record in development and/or humanitarian programmes in one or more of our thematic areas of work, who would like to be included in our database of pre-approved consultants.
Those candidates who are successful at demonstrating strong expertise in supporting the bid writing, programme design and implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of both international development and humanitarian programmes, will be asked to undertake some initial background checks and possibly to hold a short online interview with Plan International Zambia.
Please note: this is not a call for applications for any specific piece of work, and there is no guarantee that applicants will be asked to provide any services in the future.
2. ABOUT US
Plan International strives to advance children’s rights and equality for girls all over the world. Working together with children, young people, our supporters, and partners, we’re tackling the root causes of gender inequality and child poverty. We’ve been building powerful partnerships for over 80 years, and we’re now active in more than 70 countries.
Our Programmes Team delivers the highest quality programmes in both development and humanitarian settings. Gender equality is our core mandate, working towards positive impact and change for children, especially girls, in development, fragile and conflict settings. We are known for our expertise and thought leadership in Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion, Protection, Inclusive Quality Education, Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship, Early Childhood Development and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights programming.
We collaborate with colleagues globally to enhance programme quality and effectiveness, raise income from institutional, corporate, and Trust and Foundation donors and drive change through setting and influencing policy agendas.
Plan International is also building resilience through our climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction programmes. We acknowledge the need to ensure that all project and programme work is environmentally sound to ensure that our work does not negatively impact the natural environment and promotes positive contributions to addressing climate and environmental crises.

We are in the process of developing a database of pre-approved consultants with a strong track record of working in international development and/or humanitarian programmes; applicants will need to be able to demonstrate a strong track record in one or more of the following areas:
– strong skills in developing high-quality funding proposals with a variety of funders, including institutional, bi-lateral, and trusts and foundations;

Consultants can be either working as individuals or as part of a group of consultants under a legal framework (in case of the latter, all parties will be required to submit the documents listed under point 4).
