Planning Officer

The Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission a Body Corporate established under the Citizens’ Economic Empowerment Act No. 9 of 2006 to enhance broad-based economic empowerment, foster citizens’ economic ownership, control and management of economic resources, as well as to promote economic empowerment of targeted citizens is inviting applications from suitably qualified Zambians to fill the following position:

Planning Officer (1 Position) – Lusaka

Reporting to the Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation Manager, the Planning Officer will be responsible for ensuring that the strategic vision, mission, core values and strategic objectives are interpreted in corporate plans, annual work plans and budgets and render planning and operational services all departments.



Duties and Responsibilities

  • Track the progress on the key result areas and performance indicators;
  • Design and develop guidelines, tools, instruments for organization performance assessment for the Commission and partners involved in CEEC programmes;
  • Ensure implementation and review of the Commission’s strategic plan in order to ensure attainment of set objectives;
  • Assist with the compilation and timely production of corporate plans, business plans, annual
  • Work plans and budgets in order to facilitate resource allocation;
  • Identify gaps in the planning and implementation process and recommend remedial measures;
  • Monitor the implementation of the Commission’s Strategic Plan in order to ensure effective and efficient implementation and achievement the set strategic objectives;
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly, annual and other reports in order to facilitate informed decision making and dissemination;
  • Provide management support, monitor performance and ensure that the institutional performance evaluation management and feedback process is applied to all departments;
  • Manage the compilation and timely production of corporate plans, annual work plans and budgets in order to facilitate resource allocation;
  • Assist with the development and implementation of consolidated operational plans and strategies that lead to increased cooperation in departments;
  • Ensure implementation of policy and management decisions relating to the priority sectors;
  • Support the preparation of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Unit work plan and budget;

Qualifications and Skills

  • Grade Twelve (12) Certificate
  • Degree in Economics, Development Studies or related field
  • Proven experience in corporate planning
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Team building skills
  • Effective written, verbal and listening communication skills
  • Self-starter and ability to work under minimum supervision
  • Computer literate
  • At least 5 years working experience in similar position
