JOB OPPORTUNITIES

The Southern Provincial Health Office under the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Project through a Cooperative Agreement (CoAg) with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is seeking for eligible, self-motivated and qualified applicants for the positions listed below for the various levels (Provincial, District, Facility and Community)

(A) PROVINCIAL LEVEL

JOB TITLE: PMTCT COORDINATOR (01 POSITION)

Purpose: The Position is part of the project management team whose main responsibilities will be to build and strengthen the District and Facility level capacity to deliver quality eMTCT and HIV services to pregnant and post-delivery women and their babies.

Responsibilities

  • Support provision of high quality PMTCT services in the districts and health facilities
  • Directly mentor health care workers at facility and district level
  • Assist MOH to develop innovative approaches to retain Mother-Baby pairs in care
  • Assist the facility with interfacing with community based care
  • Assist the MOH to review and disseminate relevant educational materials, teaching aids and clinic reference materials for the delivery of high impact interventions to improve Maternal and Infant HIV Care
  • Participate in monthly dashboard reviews of project clinical outcomes and utilize project data to prioritize interventions related to Maternal-Child HIV care
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Grade Twelve (12) Certificate with Five (5) O’ Levels
  • Must be computer literate.
  • MBCHB or BSc in Nursing, Registered midwife preferably with additional specialty post graduate training or training in public health
  • Training and/ or certification in family planning and reproductive health is an advantage.
  • At least 5 years recent clinical HIV care and treatment experience
  • Knowledge and experience of PMTCT programmatic and technical issues highly desired.
