DEBT RECOVERY OFFICER x 1 (LUSAKA)

As part of our expansion plan, we are inviting applications from suitably qualified, experienced, ambitious, self-motivated individuals to apply for the position of Debt Recovery Officer.
JOB BRIEF
The Debt Recovery Officer is responsible for the effective and timely recovery of outstanding debts owed to PremierCredit FinTech. This role requires a strong understanding of debt collection principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to negotiate and resolve disputes
REQUIREMENTS
- Manage a portfolio of delinquent accounts, ensuring timely and accurate updates in the system.
- Contact debtors via phone, email, or SMS to initiate and progress debt recovery efforts.
- Negotiate repayment plans with debtors to facilitate debt recovery.
- Escalate complex cases to the Debt Recovery Manager as required.
- Provide excellent customer service to debtors while maintaining a professional and empathetic approach.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints promptly and efficiently.
- Adhere to all relevant debt collection laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all debt recovery activities.
- Prepare regular reports on debt recovery performance, including recovery rates and aging analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified grade 12 certificate with a minimum of credit in English and Mathematics
- Any business or accounts related Diploma or Degree, preferably in Banking and Finance, Economics, Business Administration
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in debt collection and credit risk management in a Non-Bank Financial Institution /Microfinance Institution will be an added advantage
- At least two to three years of experience in banking operations, with exposure to credit or lending and debt collection functions.
- Good communication and negotiation skills

- The ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Persuasive, persistent, and firm. Willingness to work in the field
- Strong analytical skills and Investigative skills to ensure all loan repayments
