LECTURERS-SHORT COURSES
Job Brief:

We’re looking for lecturers to teach a variety of short courses. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma or Degree or Masters in a relevant field, and experience teaching. You’ll need expertise in your subject area in order to teach students. Teaching methods will include lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical demonstrations, field work and e-learning. Multimedia technologies will also be used.

You’ll also pursue your own research to contribute to the wider research activities of the institution.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Prepare weekly and monthly class notes
-Study student activities and performance
-Create learning objectives
-Develop assignments and lesson plans
-Demonstrate control of the classroom, maintaining a safe learning environment
-Provide constructive feedback to students
-Oversee classroom activities, facilities, and equipment
-Develop and administer tests
-Create and modify course materials
-Meet with students individually, in small groups, or in groups
-Train and coach other teachers or faculty as needed
-Evaluate students’ coursework and progress
-Develop and implement assessment strategies
-Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures within the classroom
-Enforce school policy and regulations
-Provide feedback to instructors, staff, students, and administrators to improve teaching effectiveness

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

-Proven experience teaching vocational, technical, or similar college-level courses
-Excellent ability to design and deliver effective, engaging, and impactful instruction
-Effective communication and interpersonal skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
-Strong ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with other faculty and staff
-Diploma/Degree/Masters in a relevant field. Post-Graduate Training in Teaching Methodology will be an added advantage
