The University is an equal opportunity employer and hereby invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for appointment to fill in the following position of PROGRAM COORDINATOR -DEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING under the DIRECTORATE OF DISTANCE EDUCATION AND OPEN LEARNING:

Job Purpose

To coordinate academic programs and student research in the Directorate of Distance Education and Open Learning of the Copperbelt University.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Produce high quality academic modules that motivate learning
  • Coordinate the residential school for distance learners
  • Design and conduct short courses on demand for industry
  • Review and improve curriculum in consultation with other units of the University
  • Source field and industrial placements for students
  • Coordinate students’ projects and presentations
  • Conduct research and teaching
  • Carry out additional tasks as and when required by the Director

Qualifications

  • Full Grade 12 ‘O’ Level Certificate
  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering in a relevant field
  • Master of Science or Master of Engineering in a relevant field
  • PhD degree in a relevant field is an added advantage
  • Minimum of three years experience in similar positions

 Required Skills and Behavioral Attributes

  • Applicant should have demonstrated experience in teaching, proven research and publication background.
  • Strong commitment to teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Strong networking skills with relevant industry will be required
  • Competence in e-learning facilities is a must
  • Marketing skills is an added advantage
