The University is an equal opportunity employer and hereby invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for appointment to fill in the following position of PROGRAM COORDINATOR -DEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING under the DIRECTORATE OF DISTANCE EDUCATION AND OPEN LEARNING:
Job Purpose
To coordinate academic programs and student research in the Directorate of Distance Education and Open Learning of the Copperbelt University.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Produce high quality academic modules that motivate learning
- Coordinate the residential school for distance learners
- Design and conduct short courses on demand for industry
- Review and improve curriculum in consultation with other units of the University
- Source field and industrial placements for students
- Coordinate students’ projects and presentations
- Conduct research and teaching
- Carry out additional tasks as and when required by the Director
Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 ‘O’ Level Certificate
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering in a relevant field
- Master of Science or Master of Engineering in a relevant field
- PhD degree in a relevant field is an added advantage
- Minimum of three years experience in similar positions
Required Skills and Behavioral Attributes
- Applicant should have demonstrated experience in teaching, proven research and publication background.
- Strong commitment to teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Strong networking skills with relevant industry will be required
- Competence in e-learning facilities is a must
- Marketing skills is an added advantage
