Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) is inviting suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of Project Manager, District Manager, M&E Officer, Finance and Operations Manager and project leaders for the Farmer’s Club (R4) project in Southern Province. DAPP Farmers Club is implementing a Rural Resilience Initiative Project which is a global strategic partnership between the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) with support from Swiss Development Agency (SDC) to enable vulnerable rural households to increase their food and income security in the context of increasing climate risks. The Initiative is built on an innovative model that combines four risk management strategies (R4): (1) disaster risk reduction, (2) micro insurance, (3) access to credit, and (4) savings. The R4 Rural Resilience Initiative started operating in Zambia in 2014.

Project Manager

Duty Station: stationed in Monze district, Southern province.

Responsibilities: S/he will be responsible for project implementation, planning monitoring and preparation of quarterly and annual progress reports; S/he will managing a multi-disciplinary team and provide overall technical guidance and direction to project staff.. S/he will coordinate the preparation work plan and budget for the project including liaison with key stakeholders and partners including MoA, MoL&F, Mayfair Insurance, Vision Fund Zambia and WFP.  He/she will supervise the District Managers, the M&E and the Finance manager. The Project Manager will ensure adherence to all systems and regulations as stipulated by DAPP as well as partner policies and procedure and will ensure full value for funds spend. This will include approve all procurements and expenses for all resources acquired by the project. The Project Manager will be supervised and supported by the DAPP Farmers’ Club Specialist and will report to DAPP HQ Program Coordinator.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in one of the following or related fields; Agronomy, General Agriculture Sciences, Agricultural Extension and Natural Resources Management.
  • At least five (5) years of professional experience in an agriculture project of similar nature.
  • Demonstrated and proven management skills
  • Good understanding of concepts and issues on Rural Resilience
  • Knowledge and experience in Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) practices
  • Knowledge in micro saving, financing and index insurance
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent team player
