Rainlands Timber is looking for a short term consultant to conduct the ‘End of Term Evaluation process’ for the CSEF2 funded  project “Forest regeneration and sustainable management of smallholdings through the development of gender-sensitive livelihoods and market networks”.

Requirements

Education:

Minimum B.Sc. in Development studies, Management, Business or related

Language:

Expert in English (both speaking and writing), Bemba is a plus

Experience:

Minimum of 4 years’ prior experience in consultancy, preferably including also private sector experience and working in collaboration with small-, medium- and large-scale companies; business literacy is required

Skills:

Excellent management, coordination, reporting and communication skills. Able to work independently.

Responsibilities

The consultant must conduct the ‘End of Term Evaluation process’ for the CSEF2 funded  project “Forest regeneration and sustainable management of smallholdings through the development of gender-sensitive livelihoods and market networks” conducted by Rainlands Timber Ltd. between January 2016 and December 2018.

  • Desk review based on reports and data gathered earlier
  • Stakeholder consultation incl. 2 businesses, 1 farmer association, 1 NGO and  farmer representatives (+- 600 farmers involved in the project)
  • Regular communication with project manager Rainlands Timber
  • Final “End of Term Evaluation” report

Duty station &  duration

  • Desk review should preferably be done from your home base;
  • Meetings/interviews in Luanshya district (can be done through phone as well)
  • Budget: negotiable but up to a maximum of 27,000 ZMW (all incl.)
  • Together with the report, consultant will provide an invoice and timesheet
  • Evaluation report to be completed by end December 2018

Selection process

  • Scoring will be based for 70% on Technical proposal and 30% on Financial proposal
  • Short interview with project manager (can be through Skype)
