Natubelenge Children’s Library is a charity community organization which seeks to better the quality of children’s lives and improve the poor reading culture in Zambia. Our overall goal is to teach children of every background to read books for enjoyment and inner growth.
POSITION: READING TEACHERS (PAID VOLUNTEERS)
DEADLINE: 23rd NOVEMBER, 2018
LOCATION: CHILENJE, LUSAKA (1)
DUTIES
- Teach children to read in English and in local languages.
- Write and execute reading plans.
- Work to improve literacy through reading, writing and speaking.
- Reading books to children.
- Prepare creative activities Iliterary games.
- Conducting assessments to determine children’s reading levels.
- Outreach.
- Follow up on children missing classes.
- Other lawful duties as may be delegated by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
We specifically seek a candidate who:
- Can teach children to read. Prior experience, early childhood or primary school teaching Certificate/Diploma or equivalent will be an added advantage.
- Has a non judgmental approach
- Respect s diversity
- Is Computer literate
- Pays attention to detail
- Has patience and perseverance
- Is able to work well within a team
- Able to work with minimum supervision
