Who We Are

One Acre Fund is an agricultural NGO that is innovating a new way of helping farm families to achieve their full potential. We provide improved seed and fertiliser to our clients on credit in order to help them grow their own way out of poverty. We currently operate in 8 countries in East and Southern Africa. One Acre Fund has been operating in Zambia since 2015, and we have grown to serve over 1500 clients in 13 sites around Kabwe with a staff of over 100 people. Our plan is to grow even more and become one of Zambia’s fastest growing professional organisations. To help lead this growth, we are looking for a Recruitment Associate to start as soon as possible.

Roles and Responsibilities

As the One Acre Fund Recruitment Associate you will be responsible for supporting the growth of our country program through the recruiting and hiring of the best talent we can find in Zambia. More specifically, the role will be focused on:

  • Growing recruitment networks and nodes while planning team growth and recruitment projects to support One Acre Fund Zambia program growth
  • Create and maintain partnerships with networks, professional fellowships, as well as public and private institutions in order to gain access to Zambia’s most talented and enthusiastic people
  • Work with One Acre Fund Zambia leadership to identify team growth targets and needs and begin preparing to meet those targets
  • Work with global One Acre Fund recruiting team to coordinate international hires with in country hiring managers
  • Executing recruitment plans to find and hire the best talent we can into our growing team
  • Draft and publish job advertisements
  • Maintain applicant tracking database
  • Identify, and interview highly qualified individuals for One Acre Fund Zambia in accordance with internal guidelines
  • Evaluate applicants and shortlist candidates in cooperation with Human resource managers and department heads
  • Support and mentor hiring managers in the preparation of hiring materials and the use of OAF hiring systems
  • Support hiring managers across the Zambia team with training and coaching on One Acre Fund hiring systems
  • Support hiring managers in defining future roles
  • Other duties as assigned.

Our Requirements and Qualifications

  • A university degree in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences or other related fields
  • Ideally 1-3 years of professional work experience in recruiting in Zambia
  • Interviewing skills for phone and face-to-face interviews
  • Fluent in English as well as 2 or more languages found in central province (e.g. Bemba, Tonga, Nyanja etc.)
  • Solid computer skills regarding e-mail, internet usage, and Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to collect and track candidate relevant data to assess candidate quality
  • Capable of planning and managing recruitment and hiring projects to support country wide growth
  • Familiar with working in a professional environment and capable of working with multiple stakeholders within Zambia and the wider global One Acre Fund team
  • Friendly personality, professional and proactive work attitude, as well as the ability to interact with people from different backgrounds

Compensation

  • Basic salary: K3,000
  • Benefits include: housing allowance, lunch allowance, health care coverage, funeral assistance, etc.
