QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • BSc in Biomedical Sciences
  • 5-7 years working experience in Biomedical Sciences.
  • Experience in running a district or provincial Laboratory activities in previous projects with a record of accomplishment of delivery as shown in references.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • MSc in Biomedical Sciences and Public Health
  • Experience in leading teams
  • Experience with running projects and managing risk by identification and assessments including mitigation.
  • Experience with negotiations and managing stakeholders
  • Experience in Laboratory stock and Courier Management
  • Experience in Biosafety and Biosecurity
  • Experience in Quality Management System by ensuring all EQA specimen reach desired facilities and Laboratories.
  • Experience in training and mentorship

TECHNICAL AND BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES

  • Great coordination and communication
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Self-starter with proactive work ethic

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Excellent computer skills: management of folders/files, creating spreadsheets, graphs, PowerPoint presentations.
  • Able to analyse, interrogate and assess complex data on the eLABS Dashboard for program improvement by acting on the bottle necks identified
  • Able to produce complex written reports on provincial, District and facility eLABS performance every month.
  • Able to deal effectively with the pending List, Non-Active facilities, TAT and Courier performance
  • Able to budget and plan for new sites of activation and implementation.
  • Excellent in Provincial, District and Facility inventory stock management for Laboratory equipment, Reagents, and consumables
  • Excellent in the usage of the ELMIS for decision making to avoid stock out and expiry.
  • Excellent skills in VL and EID stationery management (Plain papers, barcodes, VL and EID Registers, Job Aides and SOP’s
  • Coordinate with the provincial Supply chain coordinator from ZAMMSA and PSM
  • Ensure timely maintenance of Courier motorbikes and vehicles for the district and provinces.
  • Design and implement courier routes for VL, EID, Covid and HPV samples and results.
  • Ensure district courier motorbikes riders adhere to the sample tracking form and Courier schedule.
  • Adhere to provincial VL Champions TOR’s
  • Schedule, Participate and report on the Provincial Technical working groups.
  • Review and strategize on the facilities with low VL coverage based on the M&E Bob and DATIM
  • Working with the clinical team to manage special clients in VL and EID based on the Standard guidelines.
  • Provide a detailed monthly report on eLABS performance and stock availability by district of tracer commodities.
  • Review Laboratory provincial reports and strategize on implementing corrective measures to act on data quality issues from the Lab M&E team
  • Monitor TAT and Facility activeness for POC and sample management.
  • Provide a monthly detailed report on provincial performance of POC sites for HPV, EID, TB and VL and share the statistics with lab M & E team for inclusion on reports
