Risk, Audit and Compliance Manager

Zambia Electronic Clearing House Limited (ZECHL) is a corporate entity registered under the Companies Act 1994, Chapter 388 of the Laws of Zambia whose main objective is to provide reliable, efficient and cost effective clearing and switching services to the banking sector. The company now wishes to recruit for the position of Risk, Audit and Compliance Manager based at its Head Office situated at COMESA Head Office in Lusaka.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Risk, Audit and Compliance Manager is the key leader responsible for the development and delivery of an efficient and effective compliance and audit program across the organisation. The Risk, Audit and Compliance Manager is responsible for working with ZECHL stakeholders to proactively, efficiently and continuously improve control environment and develop programs to minimise risk including: compliance with all government regulations,  internal controls such as audit and quality assurance; vendor management and contract review, legislative and regulatory liaison, customer complaint oversight, and records retention. The Risk, Audit and Compliance Manager oversees risk, audit and compliance disciplines including the annual risk, audit and compliance plan, scope of annual plans, tracking and reporting of management responses to Executive Leadership and the Board.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, banking, risk management, business, technology or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial regulatory compliance, audit leadership role driving continuous improvement in business outcomes while mitigating risks.
  • Certification with at least one professional body.
  • Experience in developing an effective risk, compliance, audit program with strong assessment tools and controls identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Thorough knowledge of change management practices ensuring all  stakeholders are prepared and comply with new regulatory policies.
  • Thorough knowledge of compliance reviews and reporting, internal controls including internal audit, quality assurance, third party vendor management, enterprise risk management.
  • A thorough understanding of financial services operations and business processes.
  • Strong third party/vendor management and contract negotiation skills.
  • Ability to identify and define appropriate quality measures and performance targets.
  • MBA will be an added advantage.
