Business Development Manager
Job Summary
Reporting to the Executive Head of Corporate Business the incumbent will be responsible for the contribution to the Corporate Business sales budget and manage new business development and renewals of schemes assigned. Scheme and broker relationship management is essential. To be abreast with all claims, additions, and deletions on schemes. Produce periodic reinsurance and GLA report and carry out any other duties assigned.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
- Developing and executing a clear strategy for the optimum performance of the corporate business portfolio with a key focus on acquisition and retention of clients.
- Establishing and strengthening relationships with key decision makers incorporates banks, brokers and affinity leaders
- Directing and coordinating activities involving corporate insurance business i.e., Direct Sales, Bancassurance and other distribution channels (Agents, Brokers & Affinity groups)
- Monitoring client preferences to determine the focus of sales efforts for both new and organic growths.
- Identifying new leads and potential new markets through researching and high-level networking.
- Negotiating and making decisions on quotations with brokers and clients.
- Hands on portfolio management to deliver profitability
- Advising senior management on maximizing business relationships where opportunities have been identified
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop market relevant products
- Identifying training needs recommending, guiding, rotating, monitoring, and following up to improve team competencies
- Attend meetings seminars and conferences as appropriate
- Any other duties as assigned
Minimum qualifications and experience
- GCSE 12 or equivalent
- 1st Degree in relevant qualifications such as Business Administration, Sales, and Marketing.
- MBA or any equivalent qualification at masters’ levels be an added advantage.
- At least 5 years in supervisory or Management roles in sales management in the financial.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Good communication skills both oral and written
