EXPRESSION OF INTEREST – CATERING SERVICES

Scope of Work for SCAW Limited Catering Services

1.     Introduction

SCAW Limited is a foundry business with vast experience in manufacturing of grinding media and castings. SCAW also produces industrial gases such as Oxygen and Acetylene. The company was established in 1960 and has a wide customer base with mines in Zambia as well as neighboring countries like DR. Congo etc. SCAW has implemented ISO 9001:2015 quality management system to ensure all SCAW Limited activities are conducted in a quality and safety compliant manner.

As SCAW Limited we have continued to strive for improvement in the quality of products and services that we offer our customers.

This Scope of Work will be issued for services under the Corporate Services department of SCAW Limited.

1.1   Background

As a company that is striving for continual improvement in the quality of our products and services delivery to our customers, we strive to ensure that the workforce is provided with a healthy decent meal that will enable the employees have energy to carry out works.

We are therefore making a call for expression of interest for the provision of catering services for our onsite canteen.

The shortlist companies will have the privileges to interact with the contracts committee, have a site visit and given a chance to tender. Tenderers will bear all costs associated with the preparation and submission of the tender.  The Contracting Authority will in no case be responsible or liable for such costs, whatever the conduct or outcome of the procedure.

The Contracting Authority retains ownership of all tenders received under this tender procedure.     Consequently, tenderers have no right to have their tenders returned to them.

1.2   Scope of Work

Here a general overview of the works is given in bullet points below:

  • The contractor shall provide lunch for all SCAW employees and contractors at both Main Plant and Forging Plant canteen on daily basis at an agreed flexible price. Main plant has an average of 150 employees that access the canteen and Forging Plant an average of 75 employees.
  • The contractor shall also provide snacks and drinks for employees.
  • The contractor shall follow the lunch time table and ensure all employees are served on time minus delay on production.
  • The contractor shall ensure that the canteen is kept clean at all times and maintain all SCAW equipment in good condition.

1.3  Requirements

To qualify for this bid, all bidders must have the following mandatory requirements;

  • Company Profile
  • At least three traceable references
  • Must be Copperbelt based (Kitwe)

2. Compliance

The bid should comprise the following mandatory compliance certificates;

  • Valid Tax Clearance Certificate.
  • Company Registration Certificate
  • Valid Workers Compensation Certificate.
  • NAPSA Certificate
  • Any other applicable supporting health and local Council certification in line with the works including legal requirements.

Note: Non-compliance to any of the above listed mandatory required documents will result in automatic disqualification.

Preferably Copperbelt based vendor.

3.  Project Deliverables

The successful company profiles should highlight to us how our deliverables will be met in line with the scope of work given.

3.1  Project TimeLine

The shortlist company profiles will be given an opportunity to participate in the bidding process and the successful company will be awarded a contract for a period of one year renewable which will be subject to quarterly reviews to assess performance.

3.2  Expression of Interest Documents

All expression of interest document and requirements to be submitted to SCAW Limited through the Tender Box at the reception area or emailed to [email protected] , any expression of interests submitted later than 16:00hrs on Wednesday, 15th June 2022 will not be accepted for consideration.
