Examinations Council of Zambia

The Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) was established by an Act of Parliament No. 15 of 1983, Chapter 137 of the Laws of the Republic of Zambia to set and conduct Examinations and award Certificates and diplomas to successful candidates. The vision of the Council is to be an examining body of excellence.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacant position under the Examinations Administration Department.

SENIOR EXAMINATIONS OFFICER – HEARING IMPAIREMENT (1), GRADE ECZ 3

Reporting to the Head of Section – Special Education, the Senior Examinations Officer –Hearing Impairment will develop and implement a comprehensive Special Education Work Plan pertaining to question paper printing, distribution, and supervision of examinations, marking, data entry and processing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures that all quality procedures are implemented;
  • Ensures that all centres for SEN candidates are updated;
  • Coordinates receipt of entries and accompanying registration documents (receipts), hard copies of registration data;
  • Ensures security of candidate entries and results;
  • Supervises the verification of the entries after loading;
  • Prepares and submits the procurement schedule to the Head of Section –Special Education;
  • Ensures that the SEN Question papers are modified, proof read and printed;
  • Ensures that the Sorting and Packaging of the Attendance Registers, Braille Examinations Question Papers, and Script Summary Forms are done;
  • Ensures that strong rooms are prepared;
  • Coordinates the transcription of scripts for SEN candidates;
  • Supervises, motivates and disciplines staff in the department in order to achieve set objectives; and
  • Agrees, monitors, and reviews performance of subordinates to ensure that they meet their performance objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • School Certificate or its equivalent
  • Bachelor Degree with Special Education
  • Certificate in Special Education (Hearing Impairment Specialisation)
  • Minimum 3 years Teaching experience
  • 1 year work experience in test development or examinations administration
  • Member of the Teaching Council of Zambia
