Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ) is a dynamic Zambian NGO improving the health of Zambians by conducting locally-relevant healthcare research. providing technical support and training and strengthening primary healthcare provision systems in the areas Of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, other infectious diseases, women’s health, newborn and child health. CIDRZ has been an active partner Of the Government Of the Republic Of Zambia since 2001 through collaboration with the Ministry Of Health and other Ministries. CIDRZ now wishes to recruit:
Senior Procurement Officer Ref SP/PS/02/01/18
Reports to Head Procurernent and Supplies. The incumbent is responsible for procuring a wide range
of supplies for the various projects including medical and lab equipment, medical furniture, medical
supplies, reagents and test kits, construction and related works, ICT supplies, general goods and
consultancy services among others. A significant part of these are procured internationally and this requires the incumbent to be fully conversant withthe international procurement commercial terms, contract and procedures including customs and duty requirements, e-procurement and automated procurement systems.
Main duties
Procures and ensures timely, efficient and cost effective supply of goods and services to user projects
departments in accordance with donor and CIDRZ guidelines. Prepares cornprehensive impeccable, technical procurement documents including comprehensive formal tender and contract documents for construction works and all procurement categories. Prepares comprehensive tender evaluation reports. Undertakes complete tendering processes for both local and international procurements. Prepares Management tender Committee reports. procurement status reports, procurement planning, audit reports, etc. Maintains procurement records. Acts as secretary in the Management Procurement Committee Meetings. Assists as Chairperson/Secretary of the evaluation tender committee. Reviews all the procurements done by officers before forwarding them for approval to the Head-Procurement and Supplies.
Qualifications and experience
Full Grade 12 Certificate: Chartered Institute Of Purchasing and Supply Graduate Diploma with 5 years Minimum working experience: Degree in Purchasing and Supply with 4 years minimum working experience: Experience in an international multicultural environment and procurement of medical supplies is an added advantage; excellent interpersonal communication and analytical skills: Must be a paid up member of the Zambia Institute Of Purchasing and Supply be in possession of a valid practicing Certificate.
