Forklift Operator
Silverlands Ranching Limited is an agricultural business which operates in Zimba, Southern Province. The company wishes to invite applications from suitably qualified Zambians to fill in the position of a Forklift Operator. The applicant must have the following qualifications
General Responsibility
Attention to detail with high level of accuracy in operation of a forklift Operator. Responsible for moving of Palletized stocks and other warehouse items around our facility. The role requires operation of a forklift with utmost care and safety.
Duties.
- Loading, offloading, transshipping, and moving of cargo to and from the truck’s, containers and within the warehouse facility.
- Ensuring to conduct a daily Pre-Shift Checklist and post-Shift Checklist of the forklift to identify and report defectives to the line supervisors.
- Updating of daily forklift operation Logbook.
- Ensuring accurate and correct loading of the trucks according to the picking slips.
- Ensuring timeously loading and offloading of trucks within the stipulated standards.
- Stacking and staging of palletized stocks in designated areas.
- House Keeping- Keeping a clean workstation and ensuring adherence to 5S, by neatly stacking warehouse items in designated areas.
- Reporting safety Hazards and incidents to the supervisor.
- Maintain a safe work environment by not endangering yourself and others.
Requirements.
- Valid Forklift Certificate
- Grade 12 Certificate
- 2-3 year+ experience in operating a forklift
- Previous experience in Warehouse operations
- Ability to operate a forklift with accuracy in movement of forks and height stackings.
