REQUEST FOR QUOTATION
TENDER FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A TWO ROOMED HOUSE IN CHOMA
(SUPPLY OF MATERIALS AND LABOR)

Background
SOS Children’s Villages Zambia has set aside funds to be used towards finance for the construction of a two roomed house for the program beneficiary in Choma District.
Instructions
Potential contractors specialized in building construction are now invited to participate in this open tender by following the instructions below;
1) This tender is open to all potential contractors specialized in building construction works in Zambia with capacity to deliver the works in Choma district
2) There is no charge applicable for participating in this tender
3) Site visit date is Monday 4th November 2019 at 10:00hrs – 11:00hrs (1 hour only)
4) Contact Person for site visit location and direction is Mr. Joshua Mulenga who will be available at the following meeting point (Leon’s Hotel) in Choma. All Contractors should meet by 09:30hrs at Leon’s Hotel
5) Only contractors that will successfully undertake the site visit will be allowed to submit their quotation.
6) The closing date and time of submitting fully priced quotation shall be Wednesday 6th November 2019 at 14:00hrs via email only (no hand delivered or hard copies will be accepted). This is so because we would like to track time of submission in the email.
7) Full payment will only be made immediately after the works have been completed and accepted. SOS will not pay advance payment to finance your proposal under this project.
8) No payment shall be made on any part of the work not satisfactorily performed.
9) The list of materials to be used in the construction work has already been quantified as shown on the list (click here). Only provide quotation for the material and labor cost.
10) The estimated delivery period shall be 2 weeks from contract signing date
11) The qualification requirements shall be as follows (please submit these documents together with your quotation)
a. Fully priced and quantified quotation
b. Business registration with PACRA (Valid)
c. Tax clearance from ZRA valid up to December 2019
d. Valid Certificate showing your approval by NCC in building construction grade 6 category B or better.
e. Personnel qualification i.e. certified building engineer with a diploma or degree in building or civil works
f. Availability of funds in your business to show us your capability to finance this work (required on your bank statement is at least 50% balance equal to or more than the value of your proposal or such other sources e.g. from a financial institution whom we should be given contact details for verification purposes). Letter of credit will not be accepted as proof of funds availability. The bank or financial statement showing available funds should be the latest copy with at least a date of any day in November 2019.
g. Show minimum of 3 previous similar works successfully completed (names and contact details are required).
h. We shall require that you provide your physical location of business as we shall be required to conduct a physical assessment of your existence in this business. We won’t accept any contractor to participate without being traced physically. Show us a trading premise e.g. a store, shop or an office showing your practice of your business.
