St Ignatius College, a Catholic secondary school owned by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) seeks to recruit a qualified and experienced Zambian national to fill the above stated position.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated social science programs for learners and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate.

REPORTING ACCOUNTABILITY

The Teacher shall report to the Business and Social Sciences HOD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching in alignment with college policies and best practices.
  • Differentiate instruction and assessment strategies to accommodate the diverse needs of individual learners.
  • Plan all lessons with clear, purposeful aims and measurable learning objectives.
  • Ensure lesson delivery adheres to departmental schemes of work and college-wide policies.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit varying levels of learner ability.
  • Promote active learner engagement and recognize progress through meaningful feedback and target tracking.
  • Foster an environment that encourages intellectual curiosity and independent thinking.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong team player with the ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and well-developed analytical skills.
  • Capable of exercising sound, independent judgment.
  • Highly self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full Grade Twelve School Certificate with at least five (5) O-Level passes.
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education.
  • Must possess a valid Teacher Practising License.
  • At least five (5) years of teaching experience in a reputable learning institution.
  • Demonstrated interest in supporting learners’ holistic development.
  • Experience with the 2044 syllabus will be considered an added advantage.
