Position: Senior Project Officer
Location: Chipata, Zambia
Reports to: Programmes Manager
Support for Poverty Reduction in Zambia (SPRIZ) is a local NGO established in 2010 and legally registered under the Society’s Act registration number ORS/102/35/4591 of 3rd January 2012. The mission of SPRIZ is “to empower communities with skills and frontline services that foster the reduction of poverty, hunger, and illiteracy within their communities through advocacy, capacity building, and service delivery”.
Main Duties and Responsibility
The Senior Projects Officer is responsible for leading field-level management and coordination of projects including leading processes of field-level operational strategic planning, reporting and supervision of field activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Implementing projects at the district and community levels and ensuring projects remain on schedule, within budget and in scope
- Manages local-level project communications, including schedules and budgets
- Leads local team through project activity implementation, monitoring and reporting
- Assists in collecting data for input into quarterly and annual reports.
- Monitors and reports on the progress of projects and staff performance on monthly and quarterly levels
- Leading operational level planning and tracking of projects and staffing at the field office level
- Developing project control and risk management procedures at the field office level including ensuring good stewardship in the management of organizational assets
- Responsible for training, managing, and motivating community members and local-level child labour implementing structures
- Resolves technical and operational issues at the field office level
- Represents SPRIZ in stakeholder meetings at District Level
- Any Other duties as assigned by the Programmes Manager
Required Attributes, Experience and Qualifications
- Must hold a degree in project management or any relevant social science
- Must have 5 years of experience in managing social development projects
- Experience in managing child protection or child labor projects will be an added advantage
- Proven experience of working with donor funded organizations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
