The Zambia Adventist Publishing House is inviting suitably qualified persons to apply for the following position:
Print finisher/bookbinder
Location: Lusaka, Zambia
Qualifications/ Skills / Experience
- Certificate in Printing
- At least 1 year of experience in all print finishing work
- Skilled in folding, cutting, stapling, or glueing paper, collating, stitching, and operating guillotine
- Experience in hardcover book binding
- Experiencing operating different types of offset printing machines
- Knowledgeable and skilled in printing and bookbinding methods
- Knowledgeable about different paper types and sizes, glues and inks
- Accurate, with an eye for detail
- Good problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills
- Safety-conscious.
- Good at working with, and fixing print-finishing machinery
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Setting up and operating binding and finishing equipment, and paper guillotines
- Checking print finishing specifications such as size, shape and binding
- Cutting, folding, collating, stitching, gluing and binding books, magazines and related jobs
- Repair old or damaged books
- Stacking and packaging the finished products
- Ensuring target output is achieved with excellent quality.
- Identifying and promptly reporting any equipment malfunction, material, safety, and or quality issues.
- Working closely with other members of the team to assure a cooperative and friendly atmosphere with regard to the daily activities of production.
- Performing special projects and assignments as directed by the supervisor
