Our client, a Global Healthcare and Crop Science Innovation company, is seeking a Lab Technician to join their team. The Lab Technician will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests and analyses to ensure quality and safety standards are met in products. This role requires a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail, along with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
  • Prepare samples and perform a variety of chemical, microbiological, and physical tests on products.
  • Maintain accurate records of all tests and analyses performed, ensuring proper documentation is followed.
  • Assist in the development of new testing methods and procedures to improve laboratory efficiency.
  • Operate laboratory equipment and instrumentation, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration.
  • Analyse test results and report findings to senior management with recommendations for quality improvements.
  • Participate in internal audits and external inspections, ensuring lab equipment and processes comply with industry standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Stay current with advancements in laboratory technology and quality assurance practices.

Desired Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or Diploma in Laboratory Technology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a lab technician.
  • Must be a member of the Agricultural Institute of Zambia.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory testing procedures, methodologies, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and laboratory information management systems.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members.
  • Familiarity with quality control standards and regulatory requirements.
