Procurement Notice/Advertisement to Bid for Small Works – ITB_ Central Province

Website UNESCO

The United Nations Educational, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is inviting qualified companies to submit a bid for the renovation of three health facilities in selected Higher and Tertiary Education Institutions in Zambia, Central province.

Description of Assignment

UNESCO seeks to utilize the services of legally registered and experienced contractors to provide professional engineering services in accordance with general engineering practices and industry best practices in Zambia.

UNESCO is implementing the Our Rights, Our Lives, Our Future Plus (O3 Plus), a project that aims to ensure that young people in higher and tertiary education institutions (HTEIs) in Zambia realize positive health, education, and gender equality outcomes. This is achievable through sustained reductions in new HIV infections, unintended pregnancy, and gender-based violence (GBV), enabling them to reach their full educational potential and contribute more effectively to the development of their countries and regions as graduates, professionals, and young leaders. The work of the project will be delivered through four complementary pillars or work streams:

  • Institutional strengthening for sustainability
  • Student health and well-being
  • Safe and inclusive campus environments
  • Evidence-building and knowledge-sharing

Under the institutional strengthening for sustainability and student health and wellbeing pillars, the project will support the renovation and upgrading of campus health facilities to offer a standard package of youth friendly sexual and reproductive health services to students. All the health facilities in the project require some renovations and modernising to be more appealing to their key target constituencies, students in higher and tertiary education.
