The University of Africa is inviting applications from suitably qualified people to fill the position of Academic Assistant for the School of Law. The Academic Assistant will provide academic guidance on the programs in the School of Law.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Strong understanding of legal principles
  • Ability to conduct independent legal research, analyze statutes, case law, and academic materials.
  • Support in course delivery
  • Guiding students on assignments, research methodology, or legal writing techniques.
  • Leading smaller groups or offering additional academic support to students.
  • Helping to organize seminars, moot court competitions, guest lectures, etc.
  • Handling course materials, academic records, schedules, and examination logistics.
  • Liaising between faculty, students, and administration.
  • Collaborating with faculty members, administrative staff, and other assistants.
  • Handling sensitive academic and student information with care.
  • Balancing multiple responsibilities such as research, teaching support, and admin duties.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Grade 12 School Certificate or its equivalent.
  • Bachelor of Laws
  • Master of  Laws or its equivalent
  • Must have their highest qualifications verified by Zambia Qualifications Authority.
  • Proficiency in computer application systems and databases
