POSITION: OPERATIONS TRAINEE (2 POSITIONS)

Our client, a Renewable Energy organization which deals in various renewable energy solutions for off the grid communities, is looking for young school levers who are energetic, creative, hardworking, proactive people. These must be people who are looking for an opportunity to gain serious market experience in Operations.

Main Responsibilities

The Operations Trainees will be responsible for driving all project management actives, purchasing, budgeting and material handling. These people will work closely with the operations team and will report to the Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities;

Project Management

  • Oversee the day to day operations of the production
  • Manage the scheduling and work performed by artisans
  • Manage the scheduling and work performed by contractors
  • Organize all logistics related to movement of products
  • Develop and ensure all EHS procedures are adhered to
  • Work with project manager to develop operations manual and various SOP as required for implementation

Purchasing, Budget & Material Handling

  • Manage our inventory tracking system and consumables supply for raw material
  • Make periodic visits to the kiosks to ensure technician visits for specific machines, large deliveries, etc
  • Keep all consumable user supplies stocked and accessible
  • Address all maintenance issues

Project Assistance

  • Assist with pushing product sales (cook stoves and solar lights) whenever requested
  • Provide user training for products
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by Project Manager

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree holder in engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering with a strong academic record, not less than an upper second class honors division
  • Good understanding in metal work activities, preferably having done a metal work course in high school
  • High proficiency in computer skills
  • Ability to prepare and present reports.
  • Good customer relations and interactive skills
  • Good leadership skills and ability to work in a team
  • High integrity and ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Willingness to travel widely and be posted to any location in the country.
