Job Title: Teller (1) Ndola
Job Overview: A Bank Teller is a frontline employee responsible for providing essential banking services to customers. They are the first point of contact for clients at a bank and play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and accurate financial transactions. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of banking procedures and regulations
1. Customer Service:
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Listen to customer inquiries and assist with their banking needs.
- Address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Promote a positive and welcoming atmosphere in the bank.
2. Financial Transactions:
- Process various financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments.
- Verify the identity of customers and ensure compliance with bank security procedures.
- Count and verify cash transactions accurately.
- Maintain cash drawer limits and balance cash at the end of each day.
3. Product Knowledge:
- Stay updated on the Company’s products and services to effectively cross-sell and upsell to customers.
- Explain the features and benefits of various Company products to customers.
4. Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions and customer interactions.
- Complete necessary paperwork and documentation for transactions.
- Follow Company policies and procedures for record-keeping and compliance.
5. Security and Compliance:
- Adhere to security protocols to protect customers, employees, and Company assets
- Comply with all Company regulations and policies, including anti-money laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
- Report any suspicious or unusual transactions to the appropriate authorities.
6. Technology Usage:
- Utilize computer systems and banking software to process transactions and access customer information.
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues and provide assistance to customers with online banking services.
7. Cash Management:
- Order and maintain an adequate amount of cash to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare and package cash for deposit to the company account
- Degree/diploma in business or equivalent; preferably accounting related course.
- Previous customer service experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of basic banking principles and procedures.
- Strong mathematical and numerical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle cash responsibly and maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge of relevant banking software and computer systems.
