Position Title: VoIP Specialist
Location: Hybrid
Department: IT/Telecommunications
Reports To: IT Manager/Director
Position Overview:
WeDoTech is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable VoIP Specialist to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies, with specific expertise in managing and configuring VPNs, firewalls, PBX systems, Yeastar PBX, and Asterisk technologies. Familiarity with VoicSPIN and other related telecommunication systems is essential. This role will involve managing and optimizing our VoIP infrastructure to ensure seamless and secure communication across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
VoIP System Management:
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot VoIP systems including Yeastar PBX, Asterisk, VoicSPIN, and other PBX systems.
- Ensure the reliability and performance of the VoIP infrastructure, addressing any issues that arise promptly.
- Implement and manage VoIP-related projects, including system upgrades and migrations.
Network and Security:
- Manage and configure VPNs to ensure secure and reliable remote access to the VoIP system.
- Configure and manage firewalls to protect the VoIP infrastructure from security threats.
- Monitor network performance and security, optimizing settings for VoIP traffic.
Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to end-users and resolve VoIP-related issues.
- Collaborate with IT and network teams to ensure integration and compatibility of VoIP systems with other IT infrastructure.
- Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for VoIP systems.
System Optimization:
- Continuously assess and optimize VoIP systems to improve call quality, reduce latency, and enhance overall system performance.
- Stay updated on the latest VoIP technologies and best practices to recommend and implement improvements.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure VoIP systems comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Maintain detailed documentation of VoIP configurations, network settings, and system changes.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant certifications in VoIP, networking, or security (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, VoIP certification) are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of [5] years of experience working with VoIP systems, with hands-on experience in Yeastar PBX, Asterisk, and other PBX systems.
- Strong knowledge of VPNs, firewalls, and network security practices.
- Experience with VoicSPIN or similar systems is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex VoIP and network issues.
Skills:
- Excellent understanding of VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP, etc.) and telecommunication standards.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with cloud-based VoIP solutions.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of additional PBX systems and telecommunication software.
Working Conditions: - Occasional on-call or after-hours work may be required to address urgent issues.
