WeDoTech is looking for a highly skilled and experienced WordPress Developer to join our team. As a WordPress Developer, you will work with other members of the team to develop WordPress sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop sites using standard WordPress functionality without code writing
  • Develop custom WordPress plugins and themes based on client requirements
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure that project goals and objectives are met
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues as they arise
  • Stay up-to-date with current best practices and learn about new technologies
  • Write high-quality, reusable code for future use
  • Manage personal development tasks and team member requests based on priorities defined by the team leader

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as a WordPress developer
  • Strong knowledge of PHP and MySQL
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with WordPress plugin and theme development
  • Proficiency in Git
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must have the ability to research and learn new technologies
  • Attention to detail, good time-management skills, ability to handle multi-tasking activities
  •  Intermediate+ English proficiency

Test Task: WordPress Plugin Development
Develop a custom WordPress plugin that fetches data from an external API and displays it on a WordPress blog site page in a user-friendly format. Here are the main requirements:

  • WordPress site should be created based on free Theme from the WordPress store
  • The custom WordPress plugin should fetch articles from an external API and save it in a custom post type.
  • The data should be displayed on a WordPress main page and should be paginated.
  • The plugin should have an options page where the user can configure the API endpoint and pagination settings.
  • It should be possible to set up the topic of articles that plugin will pull.
  • The plugin should also have a shortcode that can be used to display the data on any WordPress page or post.
  • The plugin should be developed using object-oriented programming principles and should follow WordPress coding standards.
    You can use any free or trial version external API that can fetch articles.
