Organisation Capacity Building Assessment

Website World Renew

Non-Governmental Organization

World Renew is seeking an independent organisation or consultant(s) with expertise in Organisational Capacity Building to assess exactly where two partners currently are in terms of Organisational Capacity as well as develop basic plans for how capacity can be built.

World Renew hopes that the current growth in partner programming can be consolidated and that both organisations can start to become less reliant on World Renew funding, as they seek to expand their programs into new areas where their respective churches are already working.

The consultant should propose a methodology that encourages transparency and open dialogue, ensuring full participation of all stakeholders with a view for the organisations to take ownership of their own development and capacity building. It is acknowledged that Capacity building is an internally driven process that requires the organisations leadership to take responsibility and initiative both within the respective departments, but also within the whole Church body itself.

Topics for assessment should include, but not be limited to :

  • Institutional  – Including Governance, Management Practices and Human Resource
  • Programmatic – Including Target Group focus, External Relations and Quality of Service
  • Financial – Including Financial Management, Revenue Stability and Cost Management

Proposal

World Renew is seeking a brief proposal for how the assessment will be done.  The proposal document should not be longer than 15 pages and include sections on methodology and the tools to be used. The proposal should also include a basic budget breakdown and approximate timeframe. Further details will be discussed with the consultant who is chosen to lead the assessments before the assessments take place.

Timeframe

The initial assessment should be completed before end May 2025. The World Renew annual budgeting process runs from July to June every year. To be able to put in place activities for the FY July 25 – June 26, the assessment must be completed by May, to give time for budgeting and planning in the new Financial Year.

Activities for actual capacity building, or future assessments or revisions are possible until 2030.

Budget

The initial assessment should come with a stand alone budget. Any work done after the initial assessment for ongoing capacity building will be subject to other arrangements

Interested parties should ask for a detailed TOR from Oliver Wakelin – [email protected]

The deadline for proposal submissions is Mon 3rd Feb, 2025
