Job Summary
The Maintenance Foreman will oversee maintenance planning and execution of special projects, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with safety standards. This role will support continuous improvement efforts, minimizing downtime and ensuring that facilities and equipment are maintained to the highest standards.

Reports to: Commercial Services Manager

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
– Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment and facilities.
– Conduct regular inspections of all facilities, identifying and addressing any maintenance issues.
– Coordinate with relevant departments to minimize operational disruption.
– Document and manage work orders and maintenance records to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
– Liaise with other departments to ensure minimal disruption to operations during maintenance activities.

2. Special Project Execution
– Plan and execute special maintenance projects, including upgrades, installations, and retrofitting of equipment.
– Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders.
– Conduct risk assessments for special projects, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental guidelines.

3. Team Supervision
– Lead a team of maintenance staff, assigning daily tasks, providing training, and conducting performance evaluations.
– Ensure team adherence to company policies, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures.

4. Inventory & Resource Management
– Manage maintenance inventory, ensuring that spare parts and materials are available as needed.
– Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for procurement of materials, negotiating for cost-effective and timely supply.
– Manage the maintenance budget and ensure cost-effective maintenance solutions.
– Control wastage within your department.

5. Continuous Improvement
– Identify and implement improvements in maintenance processes to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
– Stay updated on industry best practices, introducing new methods and technologies as appropriate.

6. Compliance & Reporting
– Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
– Maintain accurate maintenance records and prepare regular reports on team performance, equipment status, and project completion.

Qualifications:
– Education: Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
– Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance role, with supervisory/planning experience preferred.

Skills:
– Strong project management and planning skills.
– Knowledge of maintenance practices, tools, and safety standards.
– Proficiency in maintenance software and inventory management.
– Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
– A valid driver’s license.
