Yalelo is looking for a results-driven Assistant Processing Manager to assist with the general management of the Processing Plant. The Assistant Processing Manager will responsible for day- to day management of the Processing teams, and will also be responsible for further processing activities.

The role is based in Siavonga and is open to Zambians Only.

The Right-Fit candidate will:

  • Be responsible for planning and organizing production schedules ensuring timely delivery of product.
  • Building capacity in team to liaise with commercial operations on demand and supply of processed product specifications.
  • Work cohesively with site leadership team to deliver the site’s balanced business plan to achieve productivity.
  • Develop process workflow and design in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage all processes within the department, including but not limited to harvesting, grading, counting, gutting, scaling, freezing, filleting, ice making and logistics, labelling, washing, stock management, warehousing, and other value addition.
  • Ensure accurate selection, ordering and purchasing of required materials (consumables and capex)
  • Monitor incoming raw material, production, and dispatch to ensure the highest manufacturing standards are maintained
  • Determine quality control standards
  • Ensure that health and safety regulations are met
  • Ensure Quality and Hygiene Standards are maintained
  • Manage customer and certification audits.
  • Monitor and measures the benefits of post process implementation to ensure product quality, efficiency, and improvement
  • Implement new and/or modified production processes for regulatory approval, commissioning, and operation.
  • Organize the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through innovation, accountability, and development.
  • Manage the process of problem solving, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation within the department

The Assistant Engineering Manger Must have knowledge in:

  • Food Processing techniques and standards
  • Food Safety standards and guidelines
  • Quality Control Techniques.
  • HACCP standards
  • Performance management, and team management.
  • Employee training and coaching techniques

Minimum Qualification & Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience working in a fresh food processing environment, 2 of which should be in a supervisory role.
  • Degree in Production Management, Biological Sciences, Food Science or Biochemistry, Biotechnology or other related fields of study
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Certification in Project Management an added advantage
  • Grade Twelve (12) Certificate

This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate must be available to work weekdays and weekends including rotational shifts.
