Zambian Hearts Community Development trust is looking for 5 Volunteers to be trained as life gardeners and trainers:
Suggested Characteristics to ‘look for’:
- Self-drive and organized
- Must have good communication skills and be comfortable with public speaking
- Fluent in English
- Ability to use a smartphone, WhatsApp and Facebook
- Should be able to plan, lead and organize community projects and their members
- Ability to understand and explain the Growing Health 20 Topics
- Problem analysis and problem-solving skills
- Able to train both in the field and in seminars (5-Day Workshops)
- Should have computer skills
- Ability to take initiative and work without constant supervision
- Good people skills
- Ability to travel and adapt
- Ability to work cross-culturally
- Gardening means a lot of digging, planting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and a lot of physical work as a whole. The GH champion must be active and full of energy.
- Lead by example – the GH champion must encourage healthy habits by living them out him/herself
- Previous farming experience is nice to have but not a prerequisite
